Well... this week has been a VERY eventful week! A week of firsts for moi!

Kicking
Monday night at 6.45pm was the first mixed soccer match of the Bananaroos! = D I was quite nervous... have not played since high school, and that was like only when there was an interschool competition (like once a year). I was even more so, when someone pointed out that the other team had co ordinated warm ups... >.< awesome

Dunking
Tuesday at 7.30pm was the first Basketball game for Captain Sengs' (I am assuming that we still have the same name). It was one mega mega hot night too. Jess and Lils were absent... so I went in... but fortunately the team had Kate and Jen who are pretty awesome players...

I was pretty rusty. I should have done some shooting and ball handling practice before the match... maybe I woulda made that slam dunk that I missed. ^_-

Nevertheless we still won... I don't know the particulars.. but we were up by 3 = D

Bringing Sexy Back
HAhaha now try and guess what THIS first is about...

Hehhehe tonight (Wed 7 march 2007) I went to my first Pole Dancing class!! HehEheh yeaaa.. it was pretty fun aye...

I missed the first class which was last week, as I had my Country Road Product Information Night, (which was really really good btw). Anywho... today I was hoping that I could catch up with the class. Fortunately for me, the class had not learned too much. It is semi difficult getting into parts routines that they all had already learned. But I think it was more of a getting into the frame of mind, and remembering the steps. The routine that I had missed was:

- "sexy" walk to the pole
- Bow on the pole
- 3 point turn around the pole
- back to the pole; sliding down onto the floor
- forward spin down the pole

If anything, it was the 3 point turn that put me off... all those angles, and the forward spin.

Spinning is one of the bigger challenges... you need upper body strength, and the will power to ignore the fact that your skin on your hands, fingers, and ankles are burning from rubbing against the pole.

What new parts of the routine we learned was:

- "sexy" crawl
- on the floor and doing circles with your legs
- getting up "sexy"
- fireman spin
- backward spin

Man... the fireman spin.. took me a while... despite it seeming like the easiest of them all. It is the spin where your ankles and the front of your foot really rubs against the poles, making them burn... but still mega fun.

The backward spin is kinda awkward, but once you get it... looks really good.

I need to practice the spins more... I think the main thing about the spins, is getting the momentum going and using your weight to spin you. I was trying to explain to will, its kinda like when you drive off the Mitchell Fwy and get off on Mounts Bay. That huge round turn you take when you get off, when you drive it, you feel like, the G force pulling everything to the outter side of the turn... its kinda like that when you spin... keeping your weight out and letting it spin you...

OOH OOH OOH... and this routine that we are learning... is to Justin Timberlake's Sexy Back.

Its soooo fun I can't wait for next Wednesday!!
